Impact of Ganesh Chaturthi on an Unorganised Sectors

        *The Unusual Sunday Drop!* #018

_a weekly WA Series_

As devotees insist on the day of statue immersion “No matter the circumstances, we look forward to your return within the next year.

Agle baras aana hai, aana hi hoga...” “Pudchya varshi lavkar ya...”

Today, I will try to give a different angle to this festival, through the lens of revenue generation for an unorganized sector.

Welcoming of a king Shri. Ganesha gives a spike to an unorganized sector irrespective to a seller belonging to any religion. Unorganized sectors (Informal Sectors) are those which operates without governance of any laws. Like we have street vendors, street hawkers, personal service providers etc. in spite of, so many challenges, these sectors contribute close to 50% of total GDP in India.

· Group of family members come together for a tiny business of making a mesmerizing Ganpat idols.

· Street vendors sell as many as adorable flowers, garlands to the devotees.

· Devotees prefer eating vegetarian food, does there is a remarkable rise in the sale of Vegetables by the street vendors.

· Mahila Udyog (Ladies group business) motivates to prepare more of lip smacking sweets, snacks and other food items served to their loves ones and the guests.

· Garment manufacturing companies increase their labour force, and also the production.

· Chemical manufacturing companies  increase their production to sell crackers.

· Group of friends come together, forming a large group investing in band instruments and provide best of their service during the festival of Ganpati.

· Other sellers create a decorative apparel, turban and other accessories for the Ganpati idol their own creativity.

· Landlords offer spare room on rental basis to the expats staying in the region on temporary basis.

· Truck vehicle owners, rent out there, vehicle for  carrying large size idols from one place to other.

· Sustainable companies make the best use of leftover flowers in the sea by unbelievably converting them into incense sticks and handicrafts.

Thank you for staying till here if this gives rise to your thought, do let me know what all businesses you’ll have seen during festival season.

Thats Perfect Attack!

       *The Unusual Sunday Drop!* #017

_a weekly WA Series_

We folks are pain-takers, as we work outnumbered to put the food on the dinner table.

-Charudatt.

Hunting for food, specifically by carnivorous animals and inserts is entirely dependent on their accuracy of attack on the prey.

Generally, when we think of an animal attacking on their prey for their starving tummy, we think of those ever-active Lion, Tiger and Cheetahs in the jungle. Here, I would want you to hold your thoughts and extend flash some-more wide including insects and plants.

Surprisingly, there are few carnivorous plans which creates a trap for their food like inserts, frogs and snakes.

(Here's Video)

Coming back to thought flow of your brain Lions, Tigers and Cheetahs are standing far behind in the queue when it comes to an attack on their pray.

Happiness Index- A drop evening nation needs!

      *The Unusual Sunday Drop!* #016

_a weekly WA Series_

Happiness Index self-assessed life evaluations, using a scale from 0 to 10. Recent report released in March at the University of Oxford, Finland consistently ranks highest, demonstrating the importance of factors beyond just economic prosperity. Afghanistan's consistent ranking at the bottom.

Criteria Used for Ranking:

GDP per capita – economic strength of a country.

Healthy life expectancy – average life span in good health.

Social support – availability of help from family or friends.

Freedom – perceived freedom to make life choices.

Generosity – willingness of people to help others.

Perception of corruption – trust in public institutions.

Factors provide sense to uplift Joy-

India should be addressing issues like poverty, inequality, and environmental challenges to see the progressive shift in the HI. Aiming on local public facilities by government like hospitals, water supply, travel, lavatories, gardens.

Festivals also play crucial roles in the behaviour of the country citizens. India has 7 main religions and 36 Popular Festivals. Country should absorb major benefits of these festivals celebrated across the country.

It is said that “Richer doesn’t always mean Happier” USA rack lower than the small nations when it comes to HI. If we study and compare various aspects it is to Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Sweden, and the Netherlands when it comes to Happiness Index, we see these country’s government primarily focus on social welfare i.e. food, shelter, healthcare, and education. Finland's beautiful natural environment, with its vast forests and numerous lakes, provides ample opportunities for outdoor activities and relaxation, which are highly valued by citizen of Finland.

I prompt my pencil to rest here, and take a time out by mentioning my final word: Joy and Happiness is not about the numbers, whether or not country ranks top what matters is people’s willingness to adapt the happiness. Person should believe in value of Simplifying the life. They should help others in volunteering build relations. Practice Thankfulness towards society. Take care of their own physical health.

Do let me know in comments what makes You, City, Nation, County, People of this planet to be happy? Don’t stress thinking too much. Stay Happy :)
